Archives - Weekly Update

As this is our last Weekly Update newsletter of 2023, I want to give you a bit of an update on what happened this year. Consider it our version of the family holiday card.

We hosted 11 “Bookaccino Live” book preview events and eight “Bookaccino Live” Book Group programs, and I conducted 40 “Bookreporter Talks To” interviews. We have 583,540 video and podcast views, and 4,421 subscribers to our YouTube channel. We reviewed 678 books, and we have enjoyed your responses to our polls, as well as your comments on Word of Mouth.

Yesterday morning, I woke up to snow flurries drifting down from the sky. That was a perfect way for me to start my annual 27th birthday celebration.

For about a year, I have been eyeing up something called an Aeroski, which is a piece of exercise equipment that simulates skiing. It even comes with VR goggles. Well, it was on some super sale over Thanksgiving, and the post-turkey coma meant that, yes, I ordered it. It’s pretty cool to work out on...and, no, I am not donning ski clothes to use it. I have 30 days to see if I like it, so let’s see how this goes.

Our house is half-decorated for Christmas. This means that last weekend I enlisted Tom, Greg and our Thanksgiving house guests to bring the bins of decorations from the attic to the first floor of the house. And I did “some” decorating, as in the pre-lit trees are up, but they are not decorated. The wreath is on the front porch, but I am 99% sure that the light with the timer is not on it. I spent time arranging the reindeer above like I was a four-year-old kid. They do make me laugh as they sit on the floor in front of the TV.
