This week, we are calling attention to our "What's Your Book Group Reading This Month?" contest on ReadingGroupGuides.com, where three book groups will win 12 copies of Alexandra Andrews' debut novel, WHO IS MAUD DIXON?, which is a Bookreporter.com Bets On pick. Carol had the pleasure of chatting with Alexandra recently for a “Bookreporter Talks To” interview. Alexandra talked about her career decisions that inspired the book, along with her writing process, which included changes that unfolded over the course of developing the story. But don’t worry, she gives nothing away! Click here to watch the video and here to listen to the podcast.

Rescheduled Event Date! Sometimes life gets in the way of plans. Last Wednesday, Kim Michele Richardson, author of THE BOOK WOMAN OF TROUBLESOME CREEK, broke the news that she would not be able to join us for the “Bookaccino Live” Book Group event that was to take place last Thursday night due to a dental emergency. Thus we have decided to reschedule the event for Thursday, April 22nd at 8pm ET. If you already signed up for the session, there is no need to do so again. If you haven’t and would be interested in attending, you can register here. Also, if you have a question for Kim Michele that you would like to ask on camera, please send Carol an email with the subject line “Question for Kim Michele.”

Carol's Bets On commentary will appear in the April 2nd Bookreporter Weekly Update newsletter, and she looks forward to chatting with Lisa soon for a "Bookreporter Talks To" interview.

Join Lisa's launch party for ETERNAL on her Facebook page tonight (Tuesday) at 8pm ET! All of the events on her virtual book tour can be found here.

She was interviewed by Patti Callahan Henry, along with Robin Kall, who hosts her own podcast, “Reading With Robin," and conducts interviews on Facebook and Instagram. In separate segments, Patti talked to them about building a community of book lovers and connecting readers with writers. You can listen to this episode on these platforms: Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher.

You may recall that Carol talked to Nadia Owusu last month for the Morristown Festival of Books @Home series about her debut memoir, AFTERSHOCKS. The discussion opens with Chris sharing the circuitous --- and somewhat crazy --- route he took to becoming an author, and what drew him to write his lead character, 13-year-old Duchess. That story alone could be a book. They cover a lot of ground, including his writing process, while being careful to avoid all spoilers about the novel’s propulsive ending. Finally, we are spotlighting two of this week's most anticipated releases.

WE BEGIN AT THE END by Chris Whitaker, an extraordinary novel about people who deserve so much more than life serves them, is this month's Barnes & Noble Book Club selection, a #1 Indie Next pick and an upcoming Bets On title. It was announced today that 20th Television has snagged rights to the novel, and that "Hamilton" director Thomas Kail and producing partner Jennifer Todd will develop the book for the Disney-owned studio. Award-winning author Mitchell James Kaplan's new novel, RHAPSODY, tells the sweeping love story behind two of the Jazz Age's greatest composers: George Gershwin and Katharine "Kay" Swift. According to Therese Anne Fowler, "Mitchell James Kaplan [brings] his impressive knowledge of history, composition, and the heart's whims to bear on this shining rendition of Swift and Gershwin's star-crossed love." Kate Quinn adds, "A lilting, jazzy ballad as catchy as a Gershwin tune... RHAPSODY will have you humming, toe-tapping, and singing along with every turn of the page."
