WHITE IVY, which is this month’s “Read with Jenna” Today Show Book Club pick, is about a young woman’s dark obsession with her privileged classmate that offers sharp insights into the immigrant experience. Susie has lived around the world; in fact, she spoke to Carol from Istanbul, where she is living this month. Her peripatetic lifestyle has contributed to her writing, as she has moved so often. In the interview, she talked in-depth about the characters in her book, as well as the multi-step editing process that took it from first draft to publication. Also, we are sharing Carol's latest "Bookreporter Talks To" interview with Aimee Molloy,  whose new psychological thriller, GOODNIGHT BEAUTIFUL, is a Bookreporter.com Bets On pick. Sam and Annie are newly married. While Sam, a psychotherapist, works long hours with his patients, he doesn't realize that every word can be clearly heard through a floor vent upstairs. Then Sam goes missing, forcing Annie to try to figure out what happened to him. In the interview, Aimee shares how she shelved another book just as it was due to the publisher, and instead went forth with the plot for this one. It’s a great publishing story! She also talks about her journey to become a novelist and how her own marriage may have accidentally had a part in influencing her work.
