Archives - On Sale This Week

In this newsletter, you will find books releasing the weeks of February 25th and March 4th that we think will be of interest to Bookreporter.com readers, along with Bonus News, where we call out a contest, feature or review that we want to let you know about so you have it on your radar.

This week, we are calling attention to Carol Fitzgerald's latest Bookreporter.com Bets On selection: THE GOWN, Jennifer Robson's enthralling historical novel about one of the most famous wedding dresses of the 20th century --- Queen Elizabeth’s wedding gown --- and the fascinating women who made it. Carol is looking forward to interviewing Jennifer at the Tucson Festival of Books this Sunday, March 3rd. Also, Melanie, who edits our Word of Mouth feature, says that this book is trending in reader comments.

Also, please click on the covers above for our reviews of three books that we featured in last week's Bookreporter.com Weekly Update newsletter: NEVER TELL by Lisa Gardner, an unpredictable thriller that puts fan favorites D.D. Warren and Flora Dane on a shocking new case that begins with a vicious murder and gets darker from there; Tara Conklin's much-talked-about book, THE LAST ROMANTICS, which is the Barnes & Noble Book Club pick for February and was a Bets On title; and LOST CHILDREN ARCHIVE, Valeria Luiselli’s new novel about a family whose road trip across America collides with an immigration crisis at the southwestern border.

This week, we are calling attention to our Debut Suspense/Thriller Author Spotlight of BEAUTIFUL BAD by Annie Ward, which has this intriguing tagline: "A devoted wife, a loving husband and a chilling murder that no one saw coming." Twenty-five readers will win a copy of the book, which releases on March 5th, and give us their feedback on it. The deadline for your entries is Thursday, February 28th at noon ET. Carol Fitzgerald read BEAUTIFUL BAD over the weekend and thought it was a complete page-turner.

We also encourage you to enter our Word of Mouth and Sounding Off on Audio contests for an opportunity to win some fabulous hardcovers and audiobooks. And please be sure to vote in our latest poll, where we ask how far in advance of a book’s publication you would like to hear details about it.

This week, we are calling attention to our "What's Your Book Group Reading This Month?" contest on ReadingGroupGuides.com, where three book groups will win 12 paperback copies of AN AMERICAN MARRIAGE by Tayari Jones. The deadline for your entries is Wednesday, March 6th at noon ET.

Also, please click on the covers above for our reviews of three books that released last week: CONNECTIONS IN DEATH, book #48 in J. D. Robb's In Death series featuring homicide cop Eve Dallas, who fights to save the innocent --- and serve justice to the guilty --- on the streets of New York; THE WEDDING GUEST by Jonathan Kellerman, which finds psychologist Alex Delaware and detective Milo Sturgis unraveling a shocking crime at a raucous wedding reception; and THE LOST MAN, a new stand-alone novel from Jane Harper, in which two brothers meet in the remote Australian outback when the third brother is found dead.

Finally, we are spotlighting FINDING DOROTHY, which is now in stores. In her latest novel, Elizabeth Letts tells the story behind THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ --- the book that inspired the iconic film --- through the eyes of author L. Frank Baum’s intrepid wife, Maud.
