In this newsletter, you will find books releasing the weeks of October 26th and November 2nd that we think will be of interest toBookreporter.com readers, along with Bonus News, where we call out a contest, feature or review that we want to let you know about so you have it on your radar.
This week, we are calling attention to our review of THE SENTINEL, the newly released 25th book in the Jack Reacher series and the first collaboration between Lee Child and his brother, Andrew Child (who has written stand-alone thrillers as Andrew Grant). Lee will be turning the Reacher franchise over to Andrew, which you can read about here. On Thursday, October 29th at 7pm ET, Book Passage will hold a virtual event with Lee and Andrew, who will be in conversation with Michael Connelly about the book. Click here to sign up.
Also, we are sharing Carol's latest "Bookreporter Talks To" interview with Rose Carlyle, whose debut novel, THE GIRL IN THE MIRROR, will be a Bookreporter.com Bets On pick. Iris and Summer are mirror twins, which means they are completely identical but physically asymmetrical. Iris, who has always been envious of her sister's perfect life, joins Summer on a sailing trip that goes awry. When Iris returns to land, she is assumed to be her sister and lives out the life she has always wanted. How long does she have until she is discovered, and what will the consequences be? In the interview, Rose discusses what it means to be a mirror twin and the effect it can have on people's lives. With quite a bit of experience in sailing and traveling, she also describes her own adventures in the context of the book and unravels the story’s deeper messages.
