Also, we are spotlighting the releases of SET THE STARS ALIGHT by Amanda Dykes and THE LIGHTEST OBJECT IN THE UNIVERSE by Kimi Eisele, the latter of which published in hardcover last year and is now available in paperback.

Finally, below are a number of upcoming online author events that you may want to have on your radar. We are curious to know if you have been attending these kinds of events. Weigh in by answering our latest poll here by Thursday, July 2nd at noon ET.

New Plan: We would like to schedule a live event for our readers during the week of July 13th, where Carol would share Summer Reading titles with you, including books coming out through Labor Day, September 7th. To schedule this to share with the maximum number of readers, we would like to see what day of the week and time would work best for you to attend this virtual event via Zoom. Let us know by filling out this form.

This week, we are calling attention to our newly created “Virtual Vacation Reads” feature, which gives you the opportunity to virtually travel with our list of books set in idyllic vacation locales. All the titles here are hardcovers and paperbacks that have been published this year, or will be releasing in the weeks to come. We also have included links to indie bookstores that are at or near each of these locations, so you can pay them a virtual visit and do some shopping as well!

Also, we are sharing Carol's latest "Bookreporter Talks To" interview with Megan Miranda, whose new psychological thriller, THE GIRL FROM WIDOW HILLS, released today. They talk about the double-sided nature of the media and the ways in which it can bear down on the lives of undeserving individuals. Carol asks Megan what she did to research and structure a plot around a woman who has changed her life and name, and if it's truly possible for someone to purposely disappear from the public eye. They also touch on Megan's earlier novels: ALL THE MISSING GIRLS, THE PERFECT STRANGER and THE LAST HOUSE GUEST. Watch the video and listen to the podcast.

Also, we have a different kind of "Bookreporter Talks To" interview to tell you about. Instead of interviewing an author, Carol was joined by two Goodreads staffers: Suzanne Skyvara, their Vice President of Marketing & Editorial, and Danny Feekes, their Managing Editor. As one of the most useful resources for book lovers, Goodreads has a big hand in sharing great and exciting new reads. Suzanne and Danny talked about a number of books that have just come out, or will be out soon, along with titles that are trending with Goodreads members.
