Charles Martin earned his B.A. in English from Florida State University, and his M.A. in Journalism and Ph.D. in Communication from Regent University. He served one year at Hampton University as an adjunct professor in the English department and as a doctoral fellow at Regent. In 1999, he left a career in business to pursue his writing. He and his wife, Christy, live a stone's throw from the St. John's River in Jacksonville, Florida, with their three boys: Charlie, John T. and Rives.
Alma Katsu lives outside of Washington, DC with her husband, musician Bruce Katsu. Her debut, THE TAKER, a Gothic novel of suspense, has been compared to the early work of Anne Rice and Elizabeth Kostova's The Historian. The novel was named a Top Ten Debut Novel of 2011 by the American Library Association and has developed an international following. THE RECKONING, the second book in the trilogy, is coming out on June 19th.
Claire McMillan grew up in Pasadena, California and now lives near Cleveland on her husband's family's farm with their two children. J. R. Angelella (Joseph Ross Angelella) is the author of the novel ZOMBIE (Soho Press) as well as a Southern Gothic supernatural YA series co-written with his wife, Kate Angelella, forthcoming from Sourcebooks/Teen Fire in 2013. He is also a contributing author to Who Done It? (Soho Teen), a murder-mystery anthology benefiting the nonprofit organization 826NYC. He teaches creative writing at the Gotham Writers’ Workshop in New York City. He was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, and now lives in Brooklyn with his wife, the writer Kate Angelella, and their two flauntingly obese cats, Pacey and Bailey.
Joshua Henkin is the author of THE WORLD WITHOUT YOU, MATRIMONY, and SWIMMING ACROSS THE HUDSON (a Los Angeles Times Notable Book) and Matrimony (aNew York Times Notable Book). He directs the MFA Program in Fiction Writing at Brooklyn College.

Anita Amirrezvani was born in Tehran, Iran, and raised in San Francisco. For ten years, she was a dance critic for newspapers in the Bay Area. She has received fellowships from the National Arts Journalism Program, the NEA's Arts Journalism Institute for Dance, and the Hedgebrook Foundation for Women Writers. Anthony Swofford served in a U.S. Marine Corps Surveillance and Target Acquisition/Scout-Sniper platoon during the Gulf War. After the war, he was educated at American River College; the University of California, Davis; and the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop. He has taught at the University of Iowa and Lewis and Clark College. His fiction and nonfiction have appeared in The New York Times, Harper's, Men's Journal, The Iowa Review, and other publications. A Michener-Copernicus Fellowship recipient, he lives in New York.
