Lauren Baratz-Logsted, the author of THE TWINS DAUGHTER and numerous other novels, tells Teenreads.com the deepest, darkest secrets she can muster such as, Is she a salt person...or a sugar person? Is she tall, or is she less-than-tall? How much less-than-tall, you ask? Read on!
1. People, whether in person or online, always express shock at learning my height.
I'm 4'11. I like to think people's reactions to that knowledge is because I look and write tall. But who knows? Maybe people just need glasses.
2. I write in a wide variety of genres for a wide variety of age groups.
Unless a book is a part of a series, I hardly ever do the same kind of thing twice. So if you don't love one of my books? Who knows? You may love another!
3. I have three goals for my daughter.
I want her to be happy, to not have any kind of eating disorder, and to be a good citizen of the world.
4. I find it embarrassing to talk about myself.
And yet here I am, talking about me me me. Go figure.
5. If I wasn't a writer, which I consider to be the best job ever, I'd want to be...

6. The three books I'm most proud of having written are...
Vertigo (for adults), The Sisters 8 series for young readers which is co-written with my husband and daughter Greg and Jackie Logsted, and THE TWIN'S DAUGHTER.

...now I'm a salt person. See? I can change!
9. When I was in high school I was...
...unclassifiable. There were jocks, hoods, theatre people, art people etc. And then there was me. If I had to do it all over again, I'd remain unclassifiable. Nobody puts Baby in the corner and nobody puts me in a box!
10. If I had to pick one word to describe myself - outside of unclassifiable - that word would be...
...resilient. As a writer and mother and human being, resilience can be a very good thing. And now that I've finished with my "10 Things Anout Me" I wish I could go on for 10 more and then
maybe 10 more after that. Who knew I could enjoy talking about me me me so much much much? Thank you for having me. If I'm ever privileged enough to be invited back, I promise to try and control myself better.
