Our Teen Board has only been on the job for a month, but they are starting to get things moving. Six of the 23 have agreed to participate in the YALSA 2013 Hub Challenge, which started on February 3rd and will end June 22nd. In order to complete the challenge, each member must read 25 books each (those who want to “conquer” the challenge must read all 83!) and participate in the weekly Saturday update on YALSA. In addition, our Teen Board members will check in every Wednesday to let you all know how they are doing. Sign up for the challenge and follow along!
In this fourth check-in, a few of our Teen Board members update us on their progress.
Shelby H.: This week I have finished the books STRUTS AND FRETS and WHERE'D YOU GO, BERNADETTE. I did not quite reach my goal of reading at least three books by this time, but I am still doing well. My library, the New Madison Public Library, is doing a great job supporting me throughout the YALSA 2013 Hub Challenge and continuing to supply me with plenty of books to read. Now, I am in the middle of THE RUNNING DREAM. So far, it is a great book and I can't wait to see how it ends!
Well, eight books down, 75 to go! Looks like I have lots of reading to do!
Ailiyah A.: This week I am reading ME, AND EARL, AND THE DYING GIRL (pretty funny, regardless of what the title might suggest.) I really enjoy it. So far, I am just waiting for the rest of the books I want to come in. I have THE PREGNANCY PROJECT (which I think had become a movie, and I heard of it there first, but it should be good never-the-less) already, and that will be the next book I read.
Alonzo D.: I wanted to tell you that I have finished four of the books on the list, and I am currently reading the fifth book
Are you participating in the challenge??? Which books have you read?
