“Funny Ladies: A Conversation with Four New Yorker Cartoonists”
Wednesday, June 29 at 6:30 pm at the Museum of the City of New York
Despite the fact that cartoons have long been used to question societal norms and shake up the status quo, cartooning itself has remained a traditionally male-dominated profession. It has only been relatively recently that a growing cadre of women cartoonists have made their mark on the field, offering unique perspectives on key social issues through their work. Join Liza Donnelly, Liana Finck, Marisa Acocella Marchetto, and Barbara Smaller, four renowned New Yorker cartoonists, for a conversation about their views on the business today, the creative process, and the origins of their distinct brands of humor.
