I am writing this note on Thursday night before I leave town for a weekend at the Virginia Festival of the Book in Charlottesville. It was a busy week here as we tried to compress five days into four so I could get out of town.
March 19, 2004After managing to get through the entire winter without being sick, last weekend I got nailed by a cold that just knocked the stuffing out of me. I spent hours on the couch reading and sneezing. When the sneezing was at its worst I went right for a "comfort book" and read an advance copy of the new Kate White mystery, TIL DEATH DO US PART, which will be out in June. I like her character Bailey and for a while I felt like an old friend was visiting with me on the couch. I love when a book does that.
