What book would you like to receive as a hostess gift if someone came to visit you?

July 1, 2004

June 2004

Summer means beaches, family reunions and we hope, more time for reading than usual!

This month our theme is all about book clubs. Are you in one? Would you like to be in one? What would you like to read with a group? All of these questions come up as we are working on a program where we will bring you reading group discussion questions for many of your favorite Christian fiction authors. We're also mulling a concept where a select group of authors would be available for phone chats with participating groups. We'd love to hear what you have to say about this so please answer our poll and question this month.

Summer is officially here. And a special summer treat around our house is cooking --- and eating --- lobster. That's why we are happy to share a review of a new book, THE SECRET LIFE OF LOBSTERS with you this week, as well as an interview with its author, Trevor Corson. Click on the link above to read both. Trevor knows all things lobster. His website TrevorCorson.com has a wealth of information about these crustaceans, along with info about how to order them online (for all you landlocked folks) and a place for you to submit your own lobster stories. Pass the nutcrackers and a bib, please!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads among our readers. May Sunday find you swinging in a hammock with a book in hand, enjoying a day on the links or spending time any other way that pleases you. My typical Father's Day finds me in front of a grill cooking up steaks. This year we are going for a surf and turf motif with some lobster as well. My inspiration is a book called THE SECRET LIFE OF LOBSTERS by Trevor Corson, which we will tell you more about next week.

As soon as a major world event happens our first thought is --- are there books about it to share with readers? The death last Sunday of Ronald Reagan immediately had me making notes on books for our Reagan books roundup. To read it, please click on the cover of REAGAN: A Life in Letters.
