Tears of the Moon

Whether you are sitting by the pool, sunning on the beach, or
simply trying to escape your daily commute on the subway, no summer
reading list would be complete without at least one title by Nora
Roberts. JEWELS IN THE SUN, first in a new Irish trilogy, relates
the romance between Aiden Gallagher and Jude, an American
ex-patriot with ties to Ardmore. TEARS OF THE MOON, second in a
trilogy about the Gallagher family, focuses on Shawn Gallagher and
Brenna O'Toole.

Shawn is the second son in the Gallagher family, chef in the family
pub but willing to leave the business of its day to day running to
his older brother, Aiden. Shawn is also a talented musician and
songwriter, but his talent remains undiscovered by the world at
large. Mary Brenna Catherine O'Toole, local jack-of-all-trades, has
known Shawn all her life. Their families are close friends, and she
and Shawn grew up with an easy, sibling-like relationship. Now,
however, both are adults, and Brenna has decided to do something
about her long-hidden attraction to Shawn. She boldly approaches
Shawn and asks him to go to bed with her. Neither of them realizes
where her "yen to scratch an itch" will lead them.

Weaving in and out of their story are Carrick, Prince of Faeries,
and the ghost of Lady Gwen, the mortal Carrick had fallen in love
with 300 years earlier. Legend has it that three times he came to
her, first offering diamonds he had taken from the sun; then
offering pearls, which had been the tears of the moon; and finally
giving her sapphires from the heart of the sea. With each gift he
tried to show Lady Gwen what he could provide for her if she left
the mortal world to live with him, but he never told her the words
"I love you" until it was too late. Frustrated, Carrick cursed
their love, and Lady Gwen became destined to haunt Faerie Cottage,
until, three times, lovers find each other in the cottage. Then,
and only then, will Prince Carrick and Lady Gwen be reunited.
