Saving Myles
Following 2019’s MURDERABILIA and various anthology contributions, Carl Vonderau’s latest book finds Fiona and Wade Bosworth struggling to keep up with the Joneses in San Diego’s ritzy oceanfront enclave, La Jolla.
To finance a pretentious lifestyle, Wade works mega hours as an investment banker, while Fiona is CEO of a questionable charity owned by Andre Ouelette. Andre also owns a dubious bank that caters to the financial dealings of his wife’s drug cartel family in Tijuana.
"SAVING MYLES is a stunning thriller that will attract a wide spectrum of readers."
Wade neglects his son due to work hours, and Fiona overcompensates by doting over Myles, their only progeny. Finding drugs stashed in the teen’s bedroom, Fiona and Wade send Myles to a “tough love” camp in remote Utah.
The strain breaks the Bosworths’ marriage, and Myles returns a year later. He claims to have learned a lesson, but he crosses the border with his gal pal to buy drugs in Tijuana. Myles is kidnapped. Andre provides a quick solution to obtain the $400,000 ransom demand: “borrow” from the charity. Simultaneously, Andre uses the same tactic, snaring Wade to work for his bank. “‘Will you walk into my parlour?’ said the spider to the fly.”
Ostensibly set as a couple trying to save their son becomes the backdrop of deceit, intrigue, FBI and DEA investigations, and deadly double-crossing an infamous drug cartel. SAVING MYLES is a stunning thriller that will attract a wide spectrum of readers.
