All Dressed in White: An Under Suspicion Novel
Riding high on the success of her new investigative reporting show that focuses on cold case crimes, Laurie Moran is eager to get to work on the newest episode. Although Laurie had set her sights on another case, she found it impossible to refuse Sandra Pierce when she showed up at her office with a tragic tale involving her daughter, Amanda.
Five years ago, Amanda, her groom, her wedding party, and her family and friends had gathered at the Grand Victoria Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, for a beautiful destination wedding. Unfortunately, before the nuptials could take place, Amanda disappeared without a trace. While frantic family and friends searched for the missing bride, outsiders wondered if Amanda had simply developed cold feet and done a runner. Rumors that she was simply a runaway bride circulated among those who didn't know Amanda.
Unable to reconcile herself to never knowing what became of her beautiful, intelligent daughter, Amanda's mother is desperate for Laurie's help. If only Laurie will shine the light of her show, “Under Suspicion,” on the case, maybe they'll finally get some answers.
"...a fast-moving story that increases the reader's curiosity with each and every chapter as Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke continue to feed us just enough info to whet our appetites."
Laurie knows all too well what it's like to live as the victim of a crime without knowing what really happened. Several years ago, her husband Greg, an emergency room physician, was shot and killed while he swung their small son on the swings at a local park. The only clue she had was that the killer had blue eyes. Having recently seen the horrific crime solved, she is eager to help as many others as she can to put their own cold cases to rest.
Fortunately for Laurie and Sandra, the key players of that tragic day have consented to participate in the show. Tired of living under a cloud of suspicion, Greg Hunter, Amanda's intended, is eager to solve the mystery of her disappearance. He knows that he's always been the prime suspect, particularly since he married Meghan White, Amanda's maid of honor, just 15 months after Amanda went missing. He also stands to inherit two million dollars from the trust fund she left him in her will, if and when she's declared dead.
Others who might have had a motive to see Amanda out of the picture include her jealous older sister, Charlotte, who worked with her in the family business; two hard-partying groomsmen, Austin and Nick; Amanda's brother, Henry; Amanda's bridesmaid, Kate; and Ray, a photographer who seemed to be obsessed with the bride-to-be. Before all is said and done, everyone who was present in Palm Beach will be examined under the microscope of “Under Suspicion.”
ALL DRESSED IN WHITE is a fast-moving story that increases the reader's curiosity with each and every chapter as Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke continue to feed us just enough info to whet our appetites. With a cast of characters who are all eager to maintain their secrets amidst the investigation into Amanda's disappearance, it's hard to pinpoint the identity of the culprit who put an end to the upcoming nuptials and left a trail of broken hearts and suspicion behind.
