Anthony Awards 2010

Named for New York Times critic and Mystery Writers of America co-founder Anthony Boucher, the Anthony Awards honor the best in mystery and crime writing published in the previous year.

Barry Awards 2010

Named in honor of mystery fiction reviewer and Deadly Pleasures contributor Barry Gardner, the winners of the Barry Awards are selected each year by the magazine’s subscribers and online visitors.

The Macavity Award is named for the "mystery cat" of T.S. Eliot's OLD POSSUM'S BOOK OF PRACTICAL CATS. Each year the members of Mystery Readers International nominate and vote for their favorite mysteries in four categories.

The Man Booker Prize for Fiction 2010

The Man Booker Prize for Fiction, first awarded in 1969, promotes the finest in fiction by rewarding the very best book of the year.

The Nobel Prize for Literature 2010

Since 1901, the Nobel Prize for Literature has annually honored writers who have produced "the most outstanding work in an ideal direction," in genres ranging from poetry, novels and short stories, to essays, speeches and plays. On October 7, 2010, the Swedish Academy awarded their 103rd prize to Peruvian novelist, playwright and essayist Mario Vargas Llosa, making him the first Latin American writer to win the award since Gabriel García Márquez received it in 1982.

RITA Awards 2010

The Romance Writers of America RITA^® contest promotes excellence in the romance genre by recognizing outstanding published romance novels and novellas.

The Orange Prize for Fiction Award 2010

Launched in 1996, the prize celebrates excellence, originality and accessibility in women's writing from throughout the world.

The Audie Awards 2010

The Audie Awards (The Audies^®) is the only awards program in the U.S.A. devoted solely to spoken word entertainment. They are annually bestowed upon recipients for outstanding audio books. The Audies have been granted by the Audio Publisher Association, a not-for-profit trade organization since 1996.

Children's Choice Book Awards 2010

Established in 2008, the Awards were created to provide young readers with an opportunity to voice their opinions about the books being written for them and to help develop a reading list that will motivate children to read more and cultivate a love of reading.

PEN/Faulkner Awards 2010

Established by National Book Award winner Mary Lee Settle, the PEN/Faulkner Foundation has been recognizing titles that embody literary excellence since 1981. Previous winners include the likes of Philip Roth, John Updike, Ann Patchett, Sherman Alexie and Joseph O'Neill.
