Harley has returned to his small sea-side town for the summer, taking a break from college. Although many dark stories of life-threatening incidents surround the Ocean Watch ballet school, he can't help but be in awe of the willowy, beautiful ballerinas who dance there. When he happens to rescue a new ballerina, Cassandra, from a storm, they fall in love, in spite of everyone warning Harley against it. When Cassandra gets the lead role in the ballet "Giselle," Harley discovers that the shady "accidents" that happen up at the school mimic the unsettling plot of the play. Is he one step away from having the same thing happen to him?
UNLOVELY is a dark book with the right mix of mystery and reality.
UNLOVELY is a dark book with the right mix of mystery and reality. It shows you that there are two sides to every story, and that someone who looks so innocent and lovely can truly be unlovely. Like most small towns, Harley's hometown is a place where everyone knows one another and secrets are hard to keep. That's why it's even stranger that the murders are shrouded in mystery, creating a suspenseful atmosphere. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance or mystery.

Harley's a college guy with a brain in his head. Those old tales about the ballet school and the evils hidden within its walls are for the town's fools and gossips. Then Cassandra, one of the dancers, whirls into his life. Harley is at first enchanted. Then he's doubtful. And then he's terrified. But it's already too late.
