Chalkboard artist and typographer Valerie McKeehan has been hand-lettering and illustrating since childhood. A lifelong creative, her passion for commercial art began simply and without pretense: producing hang-lettered signs for her father’s business. Her love of building brand personalities and helping businesses tell their story creatively through strong visuals led Valerie to a career in advertising. Her attraction to the imperfect simplicity of authentic handwriting, and age-old chalkboard writing in particular, inspired her to open her own chalkboard boutique and to bring welcoming warmth and character to one’s homes through art.
