Biography

Tracey Fern

Tracey Fern grew up in the tiny village of Centerville on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She read voraciously as a child, especially the Nancy Drew series, and she wrote through middle school and high school. She continued to write at Harvard College, where she studied history and biology. She went on to study law at Boston College Law School and worked for several years as a real estate lawyer. After starting a family of her own, she began to write for children's magazines. This eventually blossomed into writing children's literature. She now lives in Newton, Massachusetts with her husband Doug, her two daughters, Samantha and Alexandra, her enormous pumpkin-colored dog, Ozzie, and her lucky black cat, Cyrus. Works include DARE THE WIND, PIPPO THE FOOL, BARNUM'S BONES, BUFFALO MUSIC and W IS FOR WEBSTER.
