Tony Jacklin

Born in England, Tony Jacklin is a retired professional golfer who was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2002. His many professional tournament wins include the 1969 British Open and the 1970 U.S. Open. He was the first European to win the U.S. Open in 84 years, and he dominated, winning by seven strokes. Tony has also played on seven European Ryder Cup teams and has been the captain of four others. In 1970, Tony earned the distinguished title of Commander of the British Empire, given by Queen Elizabeth II. He has written or co-written numerous other books, including JACKLIN: The Champion's Own Story; THE RYDER CUP: The Complete History of Golf's Greatest Competition; TONY JACKLIN: My Autobiography; SILENT MIND GOLF; and YOUR GAME AND MINE.
