Sydney Smith spent his childhood as a naturalist and researcher in rural Nova Scotia, where he paid close attention to wild creatures and things that grow in dirt. His interests led him to art school. He has since illustrated many extraordinary books, including JonArno Lawson’s SIDEWALK FLOWERS.
