Susan Vanhecke grew up in California, and she studied film and TV production at New York University. She specializes in biography, memoir, and history for adults and young people. She also hasa special interest in the Underground Railroad and the era of American slavery. Herancestors were abolitionists who housed and assisted runaway slaves in western New York. In addition to writing books, she's also the head at Susan VanHecke Editorial Solutions, an editorial services provider.
