I'm a writer who lives in Seattle, Washington. I've been interested in the arts since I was interested in anything, especially writing and music. I attended Fairhaven College in Bellingham, Washington, where I studied writing, music, and visual art. I later attended the Iowa Writers' Workshop and graduated in 2000. I live with my wife, the composer and musician Anne Mathews, in the attic of an old house with three cats and many bicycles.
