Maury Allen
Maury Allen (May 2, 1932 – October 3, 2010) was an American sportswriter, actor, and columnist for the New York Post and the Journal-News. Maury Allen began his career writing for Sports Illustrated and then moved to the New York Post, where he covered the Yankees for 27 years. He was also a voter for the Baseball Hall of Fame. Allen wrote 40 books on American sports icons, including best sellers on Joe DiMaggio and Casey Stengel and rambunctious biographies of Billy Martin and playboy Bo Belinsky. He also contributed to Thecolumnists.com. Allen won many prizes for his work through the years and was a member of many sports Hall of Fames, including the Brooklyn Dodgers Hall of Fame, an emotional landmark for this Brooklyn-born author.
