Marylin Hafner
Marylin Hafner was one of the most prolific illustrators, illustrating more than 100 children’s books. Among her celebrated works are IT'S CHRISTMAS!, IT'S THANKSGIVING! and IT'S HALLOWEEN! by children's Poet Laureate Jack Prelutsky. She was also well-known for her comic strip “Molly and Emmett," which ran in Ladybug magazine.
Hafner was born in Erasmus Heights in Brooklyn, New York, the youngest of four children. She was married twice, first to Harvey Cushman, for 17 years until his death in 1965. In 1969, she married painter Rudy de Reyna, but divorced him seven years later.
For her last 30 years, she lived in Cambridge in Boston, Massachusetts, until her death.
