Marie Iida is a writer currently based in Echo Park, Los Angeles. She was born in Tokyo and grew up in Yokohama, Boston, Los Angeles and New York. She began her career writing film reviews for Filmmaker Magazine, Premiere and Screen Daily and has translated screenplays and assisted on film productions by directors including Kiyoshi Kurosawa (Tokyo Sonata), Jim Jarmusch (The Limits of Control), Ethan Hawke (The Hottest State) and Paul Schrader. She co-translated LADY JOKER with Allison Markin Powell and in her spare time runs, cleans and collect old books.
