Biography

Laraine T. ZappertPh.D.

Dr. Zappert is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in the Stanford School of Medicine and practices clinical psychology in Palo Alto, California.

Dr. Zappert is currently a faculty member at the Center for Neuroscience and Women's Health at Stanford, where she directs the new Ph.D. program in women's health. Previously, Dr. Zappert had served as Director of Clinical Training at Vaden Student Health Services at Stanford.

In addition to her clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities at Stanford, Dr. Zappert has served as the Director of Stanford University's Sexual Harassment Policy Office since its inception in 1993. She also founded and has directed the Women's Group Program for students in the Schools of Engineering, Business, Law, Medicine, and Humanities and Sciences at Stanford.

Dr. Zappert's clinical work and research has focused on the areas of women's health, wellness, and work. She has written and lectured extensively on those topics. Her book, GETTING IT RIGHT: How Working Mother's Successfully Take Up the Challenge of Life, Family, and Career, has been nationally recognized as an authoritative resource for professional women and their families.
