Juliann Garey

Juliann Garey has sold original screenplays and television pilots to Sony Pictures, NBC, CBS, Columbia TriStar Television and Lifetime TV. As a Journalist and film critic she has been on staff or contributed to over a dozen publications including Marie Claire, Glamour, More, Redbook, Entertainment Weekly, Elle, NY Magazine, The L.A. Times and appeared regularly on CNN.

She has received fellowships in fiction writing at The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and The Vermont Studio Center. She has taught creative writing as a visiting lecturer at Sweet Briar College in VA. As a book editor, she specialized in nonfiction essay anthologies, among them: VOICES OF BIPOLAR DISORDER: Stories of Courage, Comfort and Strength and WOMEN REINVENTED: True Stories of Empowerment and Change. Her short fiction has been published in Ducts.org.

Juliann was raised in Los Angeles in and around the film business. She is a graduate of Yale University and The Columbia University School of Journalism. She lives in New York City.
