He landed a job at the campus radio station and then at another station in town. After working at three different stations over the next two years, Jody signed on at KLIF-FM in Dallas. He eventually became a full-time deejay at KVIL, and within five years, he was the producer for Ron Chapman's morning show.
By 1991, Jody was the executive producer for the Dallas Cowboys Radio Network, and in 1994 he moved to KRLD, another Dallas/Ft. Worth radio station. During his eight years as morning news anchor on news radio 1080 KRLD in Dallas, he chronicled some of the most memorable and life-changing stories of this generation including the Oklahoma City bombing and the Wichita Falls tornado. He continues to tell the stories that must be told, as an anchor on the CBS affiliate station in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Channel 11.
