Jacqueline Rogers
Biography
Jacqueline Rogers
Born in Westport Connecticut in 1958, Jacqueline was the youngest of six children in a family of artists. She went to Rhode Island School of Design to study painting. She loved the school but was unhappy in the painting department, so she switched to illustration halfway through her sophomore year.
Jacqueline didn't decide on children's books until well after she finished college. She had tried lots of different types of illustration, including magazine, newspaper, advertising, store windows and even scrimshaw. She chose children's books because it seemed to be the most fun and offered lots of room for creativity.
She has loved illustrating children's books for over 30 years. When she is not working on a book, she makes paintings, mostly in oil.
