Isobelle Carmody is a talented author of a wide range of genres. Born 16 June, 1958, she is an Australian writer of science fiction, fantasy, children's literature, adult and young adult literature. Isobelle Carmody started work on the Obernewtyn Chronicles when she was only 14 years old, and she continued to work on them while completing a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in literature and philosophy. She has worked in public relations and journalism.

Isobelle currently divides her time between her home in Australia, and her home in Prague and lives with her partner and daughter.
