Ellen Crimi-Trent

Ellen Crimi-Trent has been creating art for as long as she can remember. Perhaps it comes as no surprise since her father is a fine artist. Ellen went on to study first fashion design at Pratt Insitute in Brooklyn, NY but then quickly changed her major to illustration. Following graduation Ellen worked for various children’s wear companies before branching out on her own to freelance her work.

It was no surprise that soon Ellen quickly began licensing her designs on all kinds of products and work with many well known companies such as C.R. Gibson, The Gift Wrap Company, Design Design, Elrene, American Greetings, Boston Warehouse, Creative Expressions to name a few. Ellen has also worked directly with stores such as JCPenney and Fred Meyer in which she created successful lines of goods ranging from ceramics to ornaments to bedding and many more.

These days you will find Ellen in her studio in Massachusetts working on all kinds of new and exciting designs . She draws her inspiration from various places such as magazines, books, movies, fashion, nature and her family. “ There is never a shortage of inspiration with two young boys in the house.” Her designs reflect the many aspects of her personality, from whimsical to serious as well as decorative.
