Dr. Robert Jeffress
Biography
Dr. Robert Jeffress
Although believers regularly witness the fallout of the Enemy’s assaults all around them --- broken marriages, wayward children, divided churches and inexplicable acts of violence --- Dr. Robert Jeffress is convinced that most fail to connect the dots and understand the source of many of these conflicts. That’s why he radically exposes this invisible source of the Christian’s greatest struggles in his latest book, THE DIVINE DEFENSE.
As senior pastor of the 9,500-member First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls, Texas, Dr. Jeffress is an unwavering believer and outspoken supporter of the essential truths proclaimed in the Bible. A few years ago, Dr. Jeffress spearheaded a movement in his community to remove from the public library shelves, two children’s books that promoted the homosexual lifestyle. The resulting firestorm garnered nationwide press coverage from media outlets including the New York Times, the Associated Press, NBC television, ABC radio, Rush Limbaugh and PBS.
In 2006, Dr. Jeffress was honored as a local hero of the faith, by Vision America’s distinguished “Daniel Award,” for his steadfast commitment and boldness in proclaiming the uncompromising Word of God. His courageous, biblically based stance on abortion, homosexuality and the Christian faith is an inspiration not only to his church, but also to the hundreds of thousands of viewers who watch his weekly television program, Pathway to Victory. The program airs on more than 1,100 stations and cable systems in thirteen countries around the world. This fall, the Pathway to Victory radio program will also begin airing five days a week in major markets across the United States.
