Douglas Graham Purdy

Douglas Graham Purdy grew up in Boston and splits his time between Brooklyn and Boston. He worked in Film and Media Studies at Massachusetts Institute of Technology for over a decade. His first novel SERPENTS IN THE COLD, co-authored with Thomas O’Malley, was published by Mulholland Books, Little Brown, US & Mulholland Books UK. He is currently working on a collection of horror short stories and the second book in The Boston Saga series with O’Malley.

He is also a DJ on 8tracks.com, where he creates jazz, electronic and ambient mixes under the moniker Spoonhead.

Cal O'Brien and Dante Cooper are struggling to find their identities after World War II. Cal has built a mildly promising life for himself as an employee of a company providing private security. A heroin addict, Dante feels the call to do good after he discovers that his sister-in-law was the latest victim of a serial killer targeting disadvantaged women. Cal and Dante take it upon themselves to track the killer --- but their daunting quest takes on dangerous consequences when the trail leads them to the highest ranks of city government.
