Desmond Seward was born in Paris and educated at Cambridge. He is the author of many books, including THE HUNDRED YEARS WAR, THE WAR OF THE ROSES, ELEANOR OF AQUITAINE, CARAVAGIO and THE PLANTAGENETS. He lives in England.
