Brigit Young moved from Ann Arbor, Michigan to New York City at age 19. While acting, studying, hostessing, nannying and teaching ESL, Brigit began to publish poems, short stories, and essays. She also began to teach creative writing to kids. Struck by the brave hearts and imaginations of young people, she wrote a middle grade novel. In August, that novel, WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS, comes out with Roaring Brook Press/Macmillan. Brigit still lives in the big city, along with her husband and daughter. When she's not scribbling away, she's teaching creative writing to kids of all ages and playing epic games of pretend with her toddler.
