The Stranger in the Mirror
Sisters Lynne Constantine and Valerie Constantine (aka Liv Constantine) are masters at building suspense. They start with a couple in seeming bliss and then mess with their happiness. THE STRANGER IN THE MIRROR is no exception.
Talented photographer Addison Hope feels like she’s waiting for the other shoe to drop. Her life is a dream come true right now. Her photographs are getting attention in Philadelphia, where she lives. She’s recently gotten engaged to a wonderful man, Gabriel, who has everything to offer: charm, love, money and a well-respected family. He absolutely dotes on her. His sister is her best friend. Gabriel’s mother, while cautious, embraces Addison as her future daughter-in-law. What could possibly be better? Well, knowing who you really are, for one thing.
"THE STRANGER IN THE MIRROR races along like a rocket on steroids. Once you’ve opened the book, figuring out who Addison Hope is and how she got to Philadelphia will become your reason for waking up in the morning."
Addison Hope has only existed for the past two years. Before that, she had no past, or at least no memory of one. Addison isn’t her real name, and she desperately wants to know what it is, where she came from, and what happened the day that a kind man picked her up from the side of the road. But when she does find out, it flips her entire world upside down. And it leaves Gabriel and his family devastated. However, Addison’s fiancé is a man deeply in love, and he won’t give up easily. Right now, Gabriel doesn’t like what he’s seeing, and not just because he doesn’t want to lose Addison.
Meanwhile, another man, Julian, has been searching for his wife, Cassandra. It’s been two years since she disappeared. He needs to find her, not only for himself but also for their young daughter, Valentina. As a respected doctor, Julian wishes only to put things back the way they were before his wife went missing. He has no idea where she is or why she has never tried to contact him. He just knows that she should be home with her family. Keeping hope alive for Valentina has been difficult, but he feels it’s best for their child that he not give up. So for two long years, he hasn’t.
Finally, Julian’s determination pays off. Cassandra has been found, and now they can become the family they were always meant to be. It will take work, and probably some therapy, but it will be worth it. Julian has meticulously planned it all out. But, as we’ve heard many times before, the best-laid plans…
THE STRANGER IN THE MIRROR races along like a rocket on steroids. Once you’ve opened the book, figuring out who Addison Hope is and how she got to Philadelphia will become your reason for waking up in the morning. Just give into it, set aside a day or two, and immerse yourself. But prepare for spine-tingling thrills.
