The Santangelos

Jackie Collins’ novels have become a destination for the saga of the Santangelo family dynasty. Love, lust and revenge are her expertise. Bad boys make her story lines blockbuster. Racy runs through her blood and onto the pages of her books. THE SANTANGELOS, Collins’ latest release, breathes power and passion.

The Santangelo dynasty has captivated readers for their strength and power, and ability to always win. Lucky Santangelo learned everything she knows about street smarts and being a ruthless business woman from her father, Gino. She is driven by competition and a desire to excel. Her latest project is a one-of-a-kind hotel/casino/apartment complex plus a movie studio in Las Vegas.

"The finale to THE SANTANGELOS is fast-paced and riveting. Lucky’s passion for family and ability to make good things happen for them is the arsenal for which all strong women should strive."

Lucky and her filmmaker husband, Lennie, are a happy Hollywood power couple whose Malibu oceanfront hideaway provides some normality and escape from the madness of their professional lives. Their daughter, Max, is trying to make it on her own in the modeling world as the face of Italian clothing dynasty Dolcezza without capitalizing on her family name. Months in Europe don’t erase her crush on bad boy actor Billy Melina, who happens to be much older. Their love story is a rare and welcome event in a Collins novel.

Bobby Santangelo Stanislopoulos is Lucky’s son by the late Greek shipping tycoon Dimitri Stanislopoulos. Without touching his massive inheritance, Bobby had opened a chain of successful nightclubs called Mood. A forbidden liaison with superstar Venus, Lucky’s best friend, frees Bobby from a relationship that is toxic and over.

Despite Max and Bobby’s desire to make it on their own, trouble finds them anyway, and Collins takes readers on a wild ride that includes Colombian drug lords using a Hollywood nightclub to launder drug money and infiltrate the Hollywood movie industry, murder, betrayal, decadent lovers and players. Starlet Willow Price is a sad character who “was ready to do anything that was required to forward her career.” She stupidly believes that the depraved producers she services “would put her back on top where she belongs.”

With power and fame come enemies, and Lucky and her family members have amassed quite a few. When Gino is brutally assassinated, shot in the back of the head, execution-style, it brings out the Santangelo strength that her father instilled in her. Gino was no saint --- his past included loan-sharking, racketeering and prison --- but he was Lucky’s father and she grew to love him. His words, “Give it a shot, kiddo. It’s all gonna work out,” will never leave her. King Emir of Akramshar is one enemy who makes a comeback here. He blames Lucky for his son Armand’s death and is determined to seek vengeance.

The finale to THE SANTANGELOS is fast-paced and riveting. Lucky’s passion for family and ability to make good things happen for them is the arsenal for which all strong women should strive. Love never fails, and a Santangelo always comes out on top.
