The Bullies of Wall Street: This Is How Greedy Adults Messed Up Our Economy

In 2008, the U.S. went through the Great Recession. It had tremendous effects on the country and put countless families in horrible situations. THE BULLIES OF WALL STREET by Sheila Bair is an informative read about how this entire tragedy came about.

The book keeps the reader’s attention by placing facts and information behind fictitious narratives about the struggles of living through this crisis. Although the stories are not real, they are based off actual experiences that families had to go through during this time.

"I recommend this book to anyone with an interest in American history or a general interest in business."

While THE BULLIES OF WALL STREET is not as thrilling as, say, a fantasy YA novel, I found it to be informative and thorough, and quite enjoyed reading it.  The book goes through the reasons that the financial crisis occurred and the effects it had on many families’ lives. It talks about different kinds of mortgages and loans a family can take out, and why some of their decisions turned out to be a great mistake.

I recommend this book to anyone with an interest in American history or a general interest in business. This book may be more suited for teens that are a bit older because younger teens may find it difficult to follow the terminology.
