Week of July 10, 2017

Paperback releases for the week of July 10th include John Grisham's THE WHISTLER, a high-stakes thrill ride through the darkest corners of the Sunshine State; MY NOT SO PERFECT LIFE, Sophie Kinsella's novel that is part love story and part workplace drama, a witty critique of the false judgments we make in a social-media-obsessed world; THE CHEMIST by Stephenie Meyer, in which an ex-agent on the run from her former employers must take one more case to clear her name and save her life; and THE DOLLHOUSE, Fiona Davis' debut novel that pulls readers into the lush world of New York City's glamorous Barbizon Hotel for Women, where in the 1950s a generation of aspiring models, secretaries and editors lived side by side while attempting to claw their way to fairy-tale success, and where a present-day journalist becomes consumed with uncovering a dark secret buried deep within the Barbizon's glitzy past.

Patti Callahan Henry, author of The Bookshop at Water's End

Bonny Blankenship’s most treasured memories are of idyllic summers spent in Watersend, South Carolina, with her best friend, Lainey McKay. They swam and wished for happy-ever-afters, then escaped to the local bookshop. Until the night that changed everything, the night that Lainey’s mother disappeared. Now, in her early 50s, Bonny is desperate to clear her head after a tragic mistake threatens her career as an emergency room doctor. With her troubled teenage daughter in tow, she goes back to the beloved river house, where she is soon joined by Lainey and her two young children.
