The 8th Circle

The 8th Circle
Danny Ryan is a lost soul. His life was shattered a year ago when his wife and young son were both killed in what appeared to be a car accident. Now his friend, Michael Cohen, has been shot and dies after plunging his car into a pond in front of Danny’s house. Before drawing his last breath, Michael utters a single word: “inferno.”
"THE 8th CIRCLE will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next and how the situation can possibly get more dangerous for Danny."
Danny is an investigative reporter. Before his wife’s accident, he had made a name for himself as someone who liked to dig up stories. But following the tragic loss of his loved ones, he became a zombie. Michael’s death reawakens Danny’s investigative instincts, leading him on a chase that will alter his life once again. He has unwittingly uncovered a powerful organization of individuals who get away with murder.
THE 8th CIRCLE is the debut novel of author Sarah Cain, who has a knack for writing short chapters, each with a cliffhanger, and making you want to read more. Her writing style reminds me of James Patterson’s. Speaking of whom, Mr. Patterson may want to watch his back for the competition to come from this new kid on the block. Perhaps he will pair up with her sometime in the future to co-author a novel together.
If this first effort is any indication, Cain will make a name for herself in the world of suspense thrillers. THE 8th CIRCLE will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next and how the situation can possibly get more dangerous for Danny. Happily, this is just the beginning of what I hope will be a long-running series. I, for one, am looking forward to reading each and every installment.
