Perry's Killer Playlist
Perry still thinks about his adventures with European assassin Gobi from Prom Night last year (chronicled in AU REVOIR, CRAZY EUROPEAN CHICK), but now he is excited about a European tour for which his band is about to embark. While there, he finds Gobi and plunges into a thrilling chase involving the CIA, a body in a trunk, assassins, martial arts training and more in this page-turning thriller. Reading this book is like drinking Red Bull because readers are plunged into the action. Schreiber does a terrific job of melding interesting characters, suspense and a little romance. Teen and adult fans of James Bond or the Maximum Ride series will especially enjoy this book.

Perry's girlfriend, Paula, is the one who helps the guys get the tour, as her father is the famous music producer, George Armitage. Perry is really into Paula after a few months of dating, but something is keeping him from being too intimate with her. The tour is going great; crowds are even going wild for songs they have barely rehearsed. However, the guys know Perry is going to try and find Gobi in Venice, and the first chance he can, Perry stakes out a bar he knows she goes for. When is he attacked, she saves him only to then pull him into helping her dispose of a body in a steamer trunk over a hotel balcony. He and Gobi fly over as well, and when the trunk pops open, Perry knows Gobi’s skills are not what they used to be.
Paula is able to find him, and when Gobi reappears he learns that Paula is not what she seems. He and Gobi end up on the run again, and he meets her trainer, mentor and lover, who tries to train Perry a little, as well. They also discuss the bullet in Gobi’s brain, or an illness that is affecting her judgment.
A look at Paula’s iPad tells Perry that his parents and little sister have been kidnapped. The CIA catches up with Perry, and he learns of a deal gone wrong between Gobi and the organization that would result in her getting medical treatment. The CIA says that they will help find Perry’s family, but Perry trusts no one now. He and Gobi set up the bad guys, only to be forced to exchange Gobi for his family. Helicopter chases, exposed family secrets and a final showdown will leave readers with pounding hearts and an eagerness for the next installment of this fun and very unique series for older teens.
