Fall Preview 2020

Fall is known as the biggest season of the year for books. The titles that release during this latter part of the year often become holiday gifts, and many are blockbusters. While our series of 24-hour contests have ended, we encourage you to take a look at our featured titles. These are just some of the outstanding books that we know people will be talking about over the next few months.

Week of May 3, 2021

Paperback releases for the week of May 3rd include THE MIRROR & THE LIGHT, the triumphant conclusion to Hilary Mantel's trilogy that began with her Booker Prize-winning novels, WOLF HALL and BRING UP THE BODIES; ONE BY ONE, another “locked-door” thriller from Ruth Ware --- this time set in a blissful, rustic mountain chalet --- full of secrets, betrayals and murder; THE GIVER OF STARS by Jojo Moyes, a breathtaking story of five extraordinary women and their remarkable journey through the mountains of Kentucky and beyond, set in Depression-era America; THE SILENT PATIENT, Alex Michaelides' shocking psychological thriller of a woman’s act of violence against her husband --- and of the therapist obsessed with uncovering her motive; and MORE THAN LOVE, the never-before-told story of Hollywood icon Natalie Wood’s glamorous life, sudden death and lasting legacy, written by her daughter, Natasha Gregson Wagner.

One by One by Ruth Ware

Getting snowed in at a luxurious, rustic ski chalet high in the French Alps doesn’t sound like the worst problem in the world. Especially when there’s a breathtaking vista, a full-service chef and housekeeper, a cozy fire to keep you warm and others to keep you company. Unless that company happens to be eight coworkers...each with something to gain, something to lose and something to hide.

One by One by Ruth Ware

September 2020

ONE BY ONE is Ruth Ware’s sixth novel, and I have been a fan since book one. To me, this latest work is Ruth at her very best. It’s set at a ski resort...and on a very, very hot weekend, I found myself actually chilled as her storytelling was so atmospheric. Staffers from an app company called Snoop are off on a team-building retreat weekend at a luxury home where they will be attended to by two caretakers who are there to see to their every need. This will be challenging on many levels.
