No One Aboard
To celebrate the high school graduation of their twins, Rylan and Tia, billionaire couple Francis and Lila Cameron set sail on their luxury yacht, The Old Eileen, with a three-person crew. Three weeks later, the boat is found with “no one aboard,” and the Camerons are gone.
This unsettling discovery was made by a middle-aged fisherman named Jerry Baugh. According to maritime law, it’s “finders keepers, losers weepers” when it comes to the possession of abandoned vessels as long as no one comes along to claim them. While a search is conducted, Jerry contemplates what he will do with his “new” boat if he is allowed to keep it.
"NO ONE ABOARD is an impressive tale of intrigue, mystery, deception, betrayal and family dysfunction."
After the body of a crew member is found several days later, law enforcement pursues avenues of inquiry to ascertain if The Old Eileen had suffered an unfortunate, catastrophic accident at sea, or if something more sinister is at play.
Jerry’s brother, Steve, died several decades ago in what had been deemed an accident. But as the current story unfolds, readers learn that Steve was likely a homicide victim and that there may be a connection between his death and the fate of the Camerons.
What new discoveries will be made? How will the story end?
NO ONE ABOARD is an impressive tale of intrigue, mystery, deception, betrayal and family dysfunction. The novel is told from the perspectives of each family member, as well as Jerry, with the addition of several articles chronicling the discovery of the vessel and the progress of the investigation. These viewpoints add depth to the book, which is a real page-turner, and debut author Emy McGuire keeps readers invested in the outcome.
