Native Tongue

Hiaasen's love/hate relationship with Disney World comes to the
fore as this mystery featuring an avaricious developer/theme park
owner, Francis X. Kingsbury, and the endangered blue-tongued vole.
Down on his luck writer Joe Winder is hired to hype the Amazing
Kingdom of Thrills and he discovers that Kingsbury is on the lam
from the Mafia. A steroid-head body builder, moonlighting as a hit
man, is nearly a match for Hiaasen's anti-hero, Skink, whom we met
in DOUBLE WHAMMY. Winder and Skink team up and their solution to
Kingsbury's new golf course subdivision is the highlight of the
book.
