April 2020

All feature films releasing in April have been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Fortunately, there are plenty of book-to-screen adaptations on television that you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home. This month's roundup includes the season one finale of Hulu's "Little Fires Everywhere"; season six of "Bosch" on Amazon Prime; the series finales of Syfy's "The Magicians" and HBO's "The Plot Against America"; and the series premieres of "Normal People" on Hulu, "Defending Jacob" on Apple TV+ and "Belgravia" on EPIX. Among April's DVD releases are Little Women, Just Mercy, The Turning, The Rhythm Section and Escape from Pretoria.

Hilary Mantel's Man Booker Prize winner BRING UP THE BODIES, the sequel to WOLF HALL, picks right up with the saga of King Henry VIII and the infamous Tudors as seen through the eyes of his advisor, Thomas Cromwell. This time, the focus is on Anne Boleyn and her supplanting by the young Jane Seymour of Wolf Hall.
