Always

Kailey Crain has everything anyone could want. She’s young and beautiful, has a career she loves, and is engaged to one of Seattle’s most eligible bachelors. Ryan Winston comes from a good family, a family well known in the Northwest. Besides being rich, though, he is also sensitive, thoughtful and drop-dead gorgeous. Best of all, he loves Kailey beyond words.

One cold, rainy evening, while Ryan goes off to fetch the car after a lovely dinner, Kailey notices a scraggly man on the street outside of the restaurant. True to her generous nature, she offers him her doggy bag. But when she looks into the man’s eyes, she is dumbstruck. The beggar is none other than Cade McAllister, the love of Kailey’s life who disappeared a decade ago. He once ran a thriving business in the music industry. More importantly, he once totally captivated Kailey and pledged his love to her. Kailey has spent the 10 years since he disappeared mourning him and trying to learn how to move on. What happened to the successful man she knew back then? And why did he leave without a word? Did he ever really love her?

"Author Sarah Jio has taken a heart-wrenching yet beautiful scenario and turned it into a compelling novel that readers will have a hard time putting down."

These are, of course, questions Kailey must have answered. As she works to put the finishing touches on her wedding plans, she steals time every chance she gets to help her old boyfriend. Ryan, being the man he is, understands. He knows that the mystery of how Cade McAllister went from music mogul to homeless person weighs heavily on her. He knows that she won’t rest until she pieces together the past. He wants that for her, too. But Cade’s memory is foggy, leaving Kailey to fill in many of the blanks herself.

So Kailey has a problem both awful and wonderful. She now has two men she loves. How can she possibly sort this out? Well, first of all, she is engaged to Ryan. And Ryan is totally devoted to Kailey and her happiness. Plus, Cade faces an enormous amount of rehabilitation, if recovery is even possible. Besides, Cade left her. And she still doesn’t know why. If he left her once, could he do it again? Slowly, Kailey learns the truth of that long-ago time. As she does, some hard decisions present themselves, decisions that will have a ripple effect on many lives. A woman has to listen to her heart, but she also must think about her future. Sometimes the road that looks the most difficult turns out to be the only way to make the journey. But how to choose?

Author Sarah Jio has taken a heart-wrenching yet beautiful scenario and turned it into a compelling novel that readers will have a hard time putting down. In truth, there is no wrong choice here for Kailey. She simply needs to follow what she knows deep inside to be her right path. Sadly, though, someone will end up with a broken heart. It might even be you, the reader.
