A Twisted Love Story

With the release of her fourth novel, A TWISTED LOVE STORY, Samantha Downing has created a true cautionary tale for modern dating. This is a story about obsession, and nearly every character suffers from some form of it. Wes Harmon and Ivy Banks are the worst of the lot, and their intense love affair could be the end of them both.

When Detective Karen Colglazier steps into the offices of Siphon, Inc. to speak with Wes, she is about to deliver some news that will rock his world. Though not directly accusing him of any indiscretion, she informs him that a young woman made the police aware of a possible stalker who has been harassing her with messages and gifts. Her name is Ivy Banks --- and that is all Wes needs to hear.

"Samantha Downing has easily penned her finest work yet. A TWISTED LOVE STORY is impossible to put down, full of colorful characters and unexpected developments at nearly every turn."

Wes and Ivy have had a volatile on-and-off love affair for 20 years that began when they met in college. They have had legendary breakups with plenty of bad blood and harsh words spoken. Yet they always seem to end up back together again at some point. This is exactly what happens when Ivy approaches Wes after the police show up at Siphon only to end the evening back in his bed, the unofficial start of their next tryst.

There is something hidden in Wes and Ivy’s past that is about to rear its ugly head once again. Maybe that is why Bianca, one of Siphon’s executive assistants, has an odd obsession with Wes. She constantly sneaks into his office in an attempt to find out something about him on his computer. Her plan is temporarily thwarted when Wes’ boss, Tanner, catches her in the act and comes on to her hard. She grabs the only item within reach, a pair of scissors, and what ensues is akin to a scene from Dial M for Murder. Bianca is now gone from Siphon, though not yet charged with anything, and Tanner is dead.

Karen gets this case as well, and it is not long before she starts connecting Bianca with Wes and Ivy and their toxic relationship. You see, Karen’s obsession is saving people from bad relationships, and she has it in her head that Wes is a bad guy who she must excise from Ivy’s life. If only she knew the truth.

We get to witness another famous Wes and Ivy breakup in which they concurrently ghost and ignore each other. That is, until Wes gets a phone call from the police regarding a deadly incident during one of their breakups years earlier. He has no choice but to contact Ivy so they can discuss and plan their stories. Most couples would panic at this point, but not Wes and Ivy. What transpires is a wild ending where obsessive personalities all come to play and no one will escape unscathed.

Samantha Downing has easily penned her finest work yet. A TWISTED LOVE STORY is impossible to put down, full of colorful characters and unexpected developments at nearly every turn.
