Let’s get one thing straight at the outset: GUILTY WIVES by James Patterson and David Ellis ranks among the very best of Patterson’s stand-alone works. The cover draws you in (well, it drew ME in, anyway), but you will stay for the plot, which is a whodunit, whydunit and howdunit. Even though all of those questions are supposedly answered within the first few chapters of this fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat novel, you will keep reading from the first page to the last without a break. About the Book
No husbands allowed
Only minutes after Abbie Elliot and her three best friends step off of a private helicopter, they enter the most luxurious, sumptuous, sensually pampering hotel they have ever been to. Their lavish presidential suite overlooks Monte Carlo, and they surrender: to the sun and pool, to the sashimi and sake, to the Bruno Paillard champagne. For four days they're free to live someone else's life. As the weekend moves into pulsating discos, high-stakes casinos, and beyond, Abbie is transported to the greatest pleasure and release she has ever known.
What happened last night?
In the morning's harsh light, Abbie awakens on a yacht, surrounded by police. Something awful has happened --- something impossible, unthinkable. Abbie, Winnie, Serena and Bryah are arrested and accused of the foulest crime imaginable. And now the vacation of a lifetime becomes the fight of a lifetime --- for survival. GUILTY WIVES is the ultimate indulgence, the kind of nonstop joy-ride of excess, friendship, betrayal and danger that only James Patterson can create.

Kaspar, a beautiful black cat originally owned by opera singer Countess Kandinsky, comes to stay at the Savoy in London while his owner is rehearsing and performing at Convent Garden. During her stay, the Countess befriends a bellboy, Johnny Trott, and employs him to care for her cat while she is working. A bond soon develops between Johnny and Kaspar.
"Despite being a work of fiction, parts of KASPAR THE TITANIC seem quite real, especially when Morpurgo starts describing what it was like to actually be on the Titanic as it was going down."

Was it an accident? Was it suicide? Was it murder? These are the questions at the center of FALL FROM GRACE by Richard North Patterson. Ben Blaine is found dead at the bottom of a local Martha’s Vineyard promontory, but no sign of how he got there is to be found at the site. Ben was a world-famous journalist and author whose reputation for his fierce bravado followed him everywhere he went. He was one of those men who was bigger than life and treated the world as his own fiefdom. He took what he wanted and threw it away when he was no longer entertained by it. Read More

About the Book
The mysterious, violent death of a prominent New England patriarch exposes a nest of dark family secrets in bestselling author Richard North Patterson’s twentieth compelling novel.
Adam Blaine arrives on the island of Martha’s Vineyard to attend the funeral of his estranged father, Ben Blaine, a famous and charismatic writer who has served as patriarch of his clan for many years. A man fond of sailboats, good wine, and women other than his wife, Ben Blaine has left behind a string of secrets in addition to an emotionally distraught widow and his strangely aloof mistress, Carla Pacelli, a beautiful television actress who once had a drug problem.
As soon as Adam arrives, he discovers that Ben has disinherited his mother, uncle, and brother in favor of his lover, and begins to wonder if his father’s death --- caused by an inexplicable fall from a cliff --- might be murder. Using his training as a CIA operative, Adam skillfully seeks to obscure the evidence suggesting that a family member may have killed his father, while at the same time fighting to undo the will, which favors the enigmatic Carla. As he walks this tightrope, Adam risks his freedom and perhaps his life, even as he unearths increasingly disturbing family secrets never meant to be discovered, and which cause him to question his understanding of his own life and everyone around him --- his beloved mother, uncle, and brother and, not least, Carla.
Filled with tight psychological intrigue that will keep readers guessing until the very last page, FALL FROM GRACE confirms that “Richard North Patterson is one of the best in the business” (Time).

About the Book
Christopher Fowler’s acclaimed Peculiar Crimes Unit novels crackle with sly wit, lively suspense, and twists as chilling as London’s fog. Now the indomitable duo of Arthur Bryant and John May, along with the rest of their quirky team, return to solve a confounding case with dark ties to the British theater and a killer who may mean curtains for all involved.

The crime scene is most unusual, even for Bryant and May. In a locked bedroom without any trace of fingerprints or blood, the only sign of disturbance is a gruesome life-size puppet of Mr. Punch laying on the floor. Everyone at the party is a suspect, including the corrupt producer, the rakish male lead, the dour set designer, and the assistant stage manager, who is the wild daughter of a prominent government official.
It’s this last fact that threatens the Peculiar Crimes Unit’s investigation, as the government’s Home Office, wary of the team’s eccentric methods, seeks to throw them off the case. But the nimble minds of Bryant and May are not so easily deterred. Delving into the history of the London theater and the disturbing origins of Punch and Judy, the detectives race to find the maniacal killer before he reaches his even deadlier final act.
Whip-smart and endlessly entertaining, THE MEMORY OF BLOOD is an ingeniously intricate mystery from the deliciously inventive Christopher Fowler.
