Top Fantasy Series, June 2012

Ursula LeGuin uses a lyrical style to bring to life the story of a simple village boy, Ged, who will emerge as the greatest wizard of his era. Earthsea is often hailed as a classic, and for very good reason, though unlike many of its companions in the field is it not completely decked out with all of the glorious trappings of the genre. That does not mean the Cycle fails to deliver, it just does so in a more reserved and patient way. Adventure, magic, and mythical creatures will certainly be found in this six book series, and LeGuin will hold you enthrall with her poetic storytelling.
